According to Trekmovie there are two slightly different versions, one of them is a UK version - could that be the answer?

This film is the BEGINNING of a new timeline, if it does well we will see J.J. explore where this timeline might lead.

Those people that keep posting over and over ways to ‘reset’ to the ‘old school’ TOS era are not using their brains.

1. Using the reset button would effectively make sequels imposable unless we want to do a ‘time-traveler-of-the-month’ for every future movie.
2. Using the reset button takes away all drama from the story, the events of a good story are supposed to change the characters in some way.
3. Using the reset button spews out meaningless cash cows rather than interesting development of characters.
4. Using the reset button is only (sometimes) effective in episodic television, it ruins films, when films use it, it ALWAYS feels like a cheap cop-out ending. (anyone see NEXT?)

If they don't hit the rest button - does that mean we'll get a new TNG, DS9 and Voyager then too?? lol - just kidding
