There's been plenty of discussion about the revamped New Enterprise over the TOS version so I would like to ask the question: Would Robby the Robot still hold up in any remake or should he too be revamped for greater appeal?

Why not have Keanu Reeves star in this one too.

Too thin. But if you had to choose actors from the following series. Battlestar Galactica, Stargate Atlantis, Enterprise who would you pick as crew of the CD-57.

I'm pretty sure that this is a movie that should remain untouched by the remake syndrome.

Hardware, Hardware, Hardware! A real flying saucer (not a glowing energy ball) and a real robot (not a 60 foot tall CGI cartoon). I voted yes for the remake. It will never eliminate or take away from the original.

If they go the way that Day the Earth Stood Still went, then they definitely should not remake Forbidden Planet. You can't have lightning strike twice with these classic movies being remade. Nor can it be done three times as was tried with King Kong.

I think they did a good job with War of the Worlds.

I have the feeling it's a remake that wouldn't translate well into today.
