I'm a big fan from way back when. I skipped school to see Star Trek IV first showing on opening day. While I'm grateful that the other incarnations of Star Trek have admirably kept the franchise alive for so many years, the original series is the REAL Star Trek for me. I'm psyched for this new movie beyond belief, I feel like I've been waiting decades for it. The trailer and the site both look great, thanks for providing the forum, and it's going to be an exciting few months as the film approaches!

Music in this trailer is AMAZING, I hope the OS is just as impressive. Fantastic editing in this too, just little tiny tempting tastes of everything. Usually I'm not into rehacks or prequels but this just looks too awesome, I really hope they do TOS justice. Warp us to May!
Your father is my hero! My son generally won't watch TV with me (he's 15) although he was into Heroes long before I was and long before Quinto was cast as Spock so I have to give him credit for that. Since he's a Sylar fan, I was able to persuade him to watch "City on the Edge of Forever" with me. Great timing. He's studying World War 2 in history so it really made an impact. I think that episode is enough of an intro to Star Trek for him to enjoy the movie.

It was only destroyed in the Breen attack, as far as I know...

War World III as well.
It had to have been rebuilt after the Nuclear War.

That would be presumption, not factually established in Trek that San Francisco was ever a victim of any of the devastation Trek believes happens in the future.
