Saw it at st...the "tricorder" is indeed a Feinberger.

The demonstration girl is cute but her department insignia is all wrong.

What's that ring on the end of the med scanner for, opening up beer bottles? That's what it looks like to me.

So the comm pictured is not the only one used in the movie. So maybe there's another model that more closely resembles the TOS unit?

I'm not too sure about the "rotating nozzle" on the phaser as a setting adjuster thingy. Correction- I am sure I don't like it. We'll see...

The ring is for McCoy's pinky. He can attach the device to it and have his hands free while still having the thing hang around
