Agreed. I also agree with the opinion on Berman. ANY of the writers/directors who thought that just because it said "Trek" made it good are quite full of themselves. There were some stinkers over the years.

*New blood in the Star Trek fan pool is not a bad thing.*
Nope. It needs it desperately.
The blood does attract the piranhas though.

I don't know, I kinda liked belonging to an elite group. Anyone else concerned what would happen if too many people like ST?

so...we're vampires now?

Just kidding...I like the idea of attracting new "blood" (I would have said fans)....I'm going to drag my unwilling 13 year old daughter to the opening night of this movie (having done loads and loads of dutiful MOM AT THE MOVIES time to get the credit) and it is my deepest hope that she embraces this universe and loves these characters as I have for so long.

As long as us "current" fans, are also included within the scope of "future fans" and as long as we are welcome to be "future fans" along with all the new blood, I'm not gonna be p.o.'d. But if he's being mean to us on purpose, That would fire my ire, if you get my drift.

If too many people like ST we'll just have to find something else to obsess over.

Funny thing, I also intend to drag some more or less willing friends of mine into the theatre. Did not think about that while INS or NEM aired.
And if the movie stinks, one can always say now this was bad but it can only get better if you borrow this DVD of mine and watch movie X or episode Y.
