Default Are there trek conventions in Australia?

I have never seen one advertised.

I think the closest thing is what we have here in NZ, Armageddon. Its more like a general sci fi/ fantasy convention tho.

But in the past, there has been some pretty cool trek related gatherings in OZ. But never here tho :-(

Why not just go america to like a big one every couple of years, like the vegas one ?

Heeey, a fellow Kiwi. Armageddon is a pretty good con. There are usually interesting guests and I always end up blowing a load of cash.

Eh, too much trouble. Besides, I think the best cons are in Britain. The 'Star Fleet Ball' in Bournmouth every year was great. The guests would actually hang out with you between the talks they gave, overall it just felt really relaxed and natural.

I will be doing Vegas in 09 for the wedding and portrait photographers international convention in March. I don't suppose anyone knows if there is a star trek convention around that time.
