Just remember, somebody else tried to use the "Well, time travel happened and everything changed" argument to justify their mucking with established continuity...

Berman said the reason Enterprise looked the way it did was because the timeline was altered by the Borg and the Ent-E coming back to the 21st Century.

Lol i just dont get why people hate the Akiraprise?? Really? You want a cylinder shaped ship instead? Its a saucer and warp engines model, you cant get more basic than that!!

It really wasn't the shape that bothered me....after all, the only reason the model on Sisko's desk is called a "Daedalus Class" starship is because the Okudas decided that's what it was. It's actually just a model based on one of Matt Jefferies early sketches for the Enterprise.

The design by Paul Frenczli over on Ex Astris Scientia would have been better, IMO.

Sorry, but I would have been very upset if they had of made Enterprise to look like the Kelvin. I like the Kelvin alot, but Enterprise? It isn't. I remember when Lost in Space, the movie came out. What they did with Jupiter 2 and the Robot were, in my opinion, one of the reasons the movie flopped. You can't change the look of the original too much.
