Question Rated 'R' ?

My brother just asked me if this movie will be ok for him to take his three kids to... all under 16... but I wasn't sure how to answer him really at this point as there does seem to be a sex scene in it and it may be more violent than the typical Trek movie.

Anyone have any idea on what the rating will be? Any high ups reading this forum that maybe could jump in here?

Trek movies are usually very careful to avoid the 'R' rating... like Star Trek 6... pink Klingon blood instead of red to avoid 'R' rating.

Just curious.

A movie that wants as broad an audience as possible? Gotta be a PG of some sort. You can get away with a lot in a PG-13 film, in terms of both violent and sexual content - check out The Two Towers for violence and X-Men 2 for both.

Since Romulans and Vulcans have green blood, I guess it'll be okay

I doubt seriously that it will be anything above a PG13

Hope you guys are correct... I'd hate to see an 'R' rating on a Trek movie myself... like someone said, you can go pretty far with a 'PG13' now, so to get an 'R' these days really means something... lol

I suspect the sex scene comes to a humorous end as her roommate, (Lt. Uhura) comes in, sending Kirk under the bed to hide....

I think PG-13 is a safe bet.
