Nice! There's some old school TREK which should please (almost) everyone! Great to see him back, and aged appropriately -- looking quite like his father by now.

sure, but if the man won't eat meat, why's he wearing fur? Don't they have something like Goretex?

I'd venture to say that after all of the public outcries for more allegiance to TOS/canon after releasing the first trailer, as well as the other glimpses/info for the movie that illustrate the reinvention of the Franchise - the studio is now prompted to remind those Fans there are true connections to past Trek...

No worries, it's naugahyde.... which the naugas shed naturally and painlessly four times each year on their native planet. There's warehouses full of the stuff.

He's 257 and came from 2402.

Vulcans live that long? Sarek had Bendii's so he dies at 203 or such. Maybe Vulcan do live long, Reason why they mate only every 7 years. Population Control
