Continuity means nothing to me. I could care less if it follows the script set forth by any of the series or other movies. Why should these guys put forth the exact same Enterprise that was designed back in the sixties for god's sake. Give them a little creative license will ya. I just want to see a good sci-fi movie. If the concept has been re-imagined somewhat then I say Good! By the way, I love the new Battlestar Galactica as well. LoL.

I like Pine, a lot. I think he's really going to inhabit the role of Kirk.

I like the uniforms. (I rather hate Spock's sweater and big boots combo on Vulcan, though everyone else looks good).

I love, love, love the spinny transporter effect.

I like that thing Kirk is fighting with the nasty teethies....it sort of looks like a carnivorous plant.

I like Zoe Saldano, she looks just fine...I can't wait to actually hear from her.

i have always enjoyed Trek ship battles, so the brief action we see with ship parts flying everywhere and phaser beams reaching out...that was awesome for me.

I just don't want exclusive enjoyment in the battle...there better be more.

I like ...
the casting very much.
Karl Urban's line about darkness and silence.
Simon Pegg's line about the ship being exciting.
the uniforms.
the new transporter effect.
the fact that they kept the Red Alert sound.
the way the trailer was cut with the fast scenes toward the end.
the scene with Sarek and Amanda.
the scene when little Spock looks up at the camera.
the shot of the Enterprise under construction.
the look in Chris Pine's eyes when he says to Spock, "Then why don't you stop me?"

Of course NOT. I hope the movie is more than just "blockbuster" aspects, even ship battles. But the question was about what we liked about the trailer.

The look on the actors face playing McCoy, that look was ALL Bones!! I didn't make out what he was saying though.

1. I like the actors very much.
2. I like the pace of the trailer.
3. I liked Eric Bana and the new Romulan look with all the tattoos. Very cool and very intimidating. I always thought the Romulans were better opponents than the Klingons because they show us what Vulcans would be like if they didn't control their emotions. That said, I like the fact that Spock looses his temper.
4. I love McCoy. Almost cried when he said exactly what DeForest Kelly would have said about space. I wish very much DeForest, Jimmy and Gene were alive to see the movie.
5. I loved all the location shots on earth and Vulcan. I've never been much of a techo person so I can't say I cared one way or the other how accurate the bridge was or anything like that. I watched the show because I cared about the people and I feel that I will care about this group too.

I'm beginning to obsess on Zach Quinto so I have to back away and pace myself or my husband might get fed up and refuse to go to the movie with me. I've rented season 1 and 2 Heroes and So NoTORIous from Netflix too many times.
