So....are we allowed to discuss what was on the Empire site without having spoiler tags?

I got the impression from what I read that JJ may be trying to soften the blow of what his movie is going to do to perceived "canon".

If he wanted to play it safe, he could have shown scenes that maybe more related to what we know of the Trek universe....instead it's almost as if he went out of the way to show he's doing things differently.

I for one liked what I read....even if it does challenge some of what we already know...

You people have ruined "Star Trek The Next Generation" for me. You are absolutely the most insufferable group of jackasses I have ever had the misfortune of spending an extended period of time with. I hope you all f@*#! die. - Stewie after spending the day with the TNG cast.

I think J.J. is an exceptionally clever marketer, and he knows exactly what he is doing with what he showed to the audience.
