It's a tangent, but a homosexual couple would be simple to write for Star Trek.

All one needs to do is combine the romance of Odo/Kira with the friendship of O'Brien/Bashir and that's it.

Done and dusted. Easy.

Didn't Andrew Robinson always consider Garak gay and play him accordingly?

If you don't like the movie, you are entitled to you opinion, but please don't forget that other folks worked on the TNG movies as well.
I don't like TMP for example, but that's no reason to blame Mr.Roddenberry for anything. Just like Berman and Braga and anyone else involved in the production of Trek, he did good and bad work, like all of us do.
Horatio, very well put. I agree with you in that we all have our opinions. I just don't understand why some people who say they are fans are never happy with ANYTHING that comes out concerning Star Trek. I consider First Contact the best TNG ever, followed closley by Nemesis. My best friend who is 44 considers Insurrection the best Trek of all ten movies! Is he a moron? No, it is his choice which again, is the great thing about living in this great country!!!! JJ Abrams is taking it upon himself to making his twist on Star Trek. I am sure there will be people who will crucify him.

I think he said he played him as "omni-sexual".

I never heard that but now that you mention it, it makes a lot of sense.

With Berman and Braga running things, a homosexual character was never going to be seen.

It's too risky for Rick "Lets Keep It All Grey, Bland, and Safe" Berman.

And too mundane for Brannon "Let's Make It All Weird" Braga.

After all, THIS abortion of an episode came from Braga's mind:
