Default Of Deloreans and Clocktowers

I'm in trouble, I think.

It began a few weeks ago, when I saw "Back to the Future: Part III" for the first time in over half of my life time. It was so awesome, I became almost instantly infected with what I call BTTF syndrome. It's basically the process of becoming a Back to the Future fanatic. In short, I'm turning into another NCC-73515.

What makes matters worse, is that this development is so recent, my parents don't believe it will be a lasting thing. Which complicates things, because for those of you who are familiar with the current holders of the toy license to all Star Trek items related to the 'Prime' univers, A.K.A Diamond Select toys, they are ALSO producing a 1:15 scale (a whopping 14 inch long) toy replica of the Delorean from Back to the Future, complete with lights and sounds, opening gullwings and hood (underneath which is the battery cover), and for limited edition versions, convertible wheels which fold under the car for flight mode. Why all of this is bad, is because I am a new recruit to the BTTF thing, having been only a casual, if still rather big, fan for most of my life. So how do I prove to my Dad (the source of my income) that the toy I never knew I'd always dreamt of having is worth the $55 dollars he will have to pay? Or should I just accept the bitter alternative that I was meant to only be a trekkie, and not have other interests?

Since I am a toy collector, and since I use the toys that I have as proof that I am a fan of something (If I have a toy of something, then I am a fan of it) this Delorean is a must-have. But being a limited run, I'm running out of time. I come to you all for advice in this crisis of conscience. Any ideas?

What about a Quid Pro Quo agreement where you do some work in exchange for the DeLorean as payment instead of the cash?

Or for the cash then you can buy what you want with it?

I'm a big fan of BTTF (1 & 2 more than 3) and I've seen this DeLorean you speak of. It's not something that I really need, even though it is quite awesome. Sometime in the future, there will probably an even cooler and most likely bigger version of it.

I'd get the DST DeLorean immediately if it was available here
Btw, there are free versions

I would love to get my hands on a metal diescast of that train. It would complete my diecast collection of the BTTF cars.

Or maybe keep an eye open at flea markets, and SF fan sales. All sorts of BTTF collectable occasionally pop at them.

I feel bad for NCC, as big of a BTTF fan as he is, he deserves the DST Delorean. Oh, and besides the point guys, I've decided I will remain a casual fan of BTTF for the time being. Apparently it was just another phase I was going through. I'll still love BTTF, but Star Trek will always be my favorite!

(still, that DST Delorean would be nice to have!!!)

The DeLorean sounds are much nicer than the Abramsprise sounds
Thanks for your compassion

You probably just have a thing for flux capacitors over warp drives.
