Default The Lovely Bones

This is a book that has been on my 'to read' list for quite some time, but now that this terrific trailer for the Peter Jackson adaption is out, it makes me even more interested in reading it before the film is released.

Has anyone here read it or looking forward to the film?

I didn't know it was going to be a movie - now I have to read it fast! It's in a pile with "Like Water for Elephants" and "The Year of Magical Thinking" - some day, by crikey, I'm gonna read them.

I know, I already have about 10 books sitting on various shelves that I still have to read. I buy them, and then it's months before I get round to them!

It looks interesting. Here's a little trailer/featurette sort of thing on apple about it.

I read "The Lovely Bones" a few years ago. I don't really remember a huge amount about it, but I did enjoy it. Also worth reading is Alice Seabold's autobiography "Lucky." I usually suggest people read that first but it is quite harrowing. Not that I want to add to your various piles of "to read" books.

Another excellent book is Mark Haddon's "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time."

Haha my mother has read it, and I managed to read the first chapter before she took is away saying it was "too mature" for me... of course, that was 3 years ago. I loved what I got to read of it though.

I read it last year, and found it a fascinating read. I saw the trailer this weekend and was VERY surprised that it was going to be a movie. It looks fantastic, I eagerly await it's theatrical release.
