Which out of the four films is your favorite Die Hard film? Mine would have to be Die Hard: With a Vengeance. I thought the story was great, and the cast one of the best since the first film. I also found it to be a big improvement to the second film.

Yeah, I thought it was very well done. At first I had a lot of doubts about the film, especially with him being bald and all. However I came to realize that it just showed the progress and maturity of his character. The one down part I think could have been different, was the dark color tone of the film. It felt a lot like the Underworld series, which was the director's only two other films. Overall, Die Hard 4.0 was great! I recommend that you watch the unrated version because it really fits into John's true character and gives you the McClane we knew from 1995.

The original DIE HARD has it. It re-invented the lone hero against all odds theme and while I enjoyed the succeeding films they were increasingly farfetched. What I enjoyed most about the original was that no one expected its huge impact. The movie had a great ensemble cast with a perfect villain in Alan Rickman.

I just got LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD on Blu-Ray and quite enjoyed it. Only personal preference can rank where it rates for any viewer, but I certainly liked it more than DH3. I will have to watch it a few more times to know how 4 ranks against 3, but for now I put it in a close third-place. One aspect about LFDH I did like was that once again McClane was not the only one in the wrong place at the wrong time as the villain's unique target. John stepped in from the periphery and did what he does because it's his job... he wasn't just Terrorist Disaster Magnet Man with bullets and bombs crashing down on his head alone.

Whilst i enjoy all four Die Hard Movies - the original is still the best.
Im still undcided as to which title for the recent film i prefer. Here in the UK we got Die Hard 4.0 whereas the Americans got 'Live Free and Die Hard' - comments? |

Die Hard 4.0 would have been a much better title in my opinion. I am not wild about the whole U.S. freedom statement in the title. I think 4.0 would have been much more relivent since the film dealt with computers.
