There's so much fantastic dialogue in the film that I couldn't resist starting a thread to celebrate the best of it.

If you've not seen the film, I strongly advise you to stop here and leave the thread, because the wordplay in the film is so priceless that it's absolutely worth waiting to see it onscreen, rather than reading poor transcripts off an Internet forum.

With that out of the way, consider this shining example.

Nero: Oh helloooo Christopher, I'm Nero!

Spock: Did you disengage the external inertial dampers?
Sulu: ... *presses buttons quietly*

That was great. Looks like the usual Trek thing of metaphor-ised jargon is alive and well.

Pike had just opened hailing frequencies with the Narada, he introduced himself in his stoic and upright way, and Nero just amiably delivered that fantastic line. I thought I detected a note of sarcasm in it, or it might have just been a touch of campness, hard to say. It worked perfectly though. Nero has a great way with communications like that, never seems to take anyone very seriously.

Not really dialogue but when Kirk was munching into his Apple on the Maru test, that was just funny.

TBH Him and that little friend of his kinda wasn't funny at times. I'm not sure what they were trying to create there.
