If you find a good links with spoilers, please be sure to properly label them:

'Star Trek': Thoughts from a non-fan (no spoilers)
http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2009/05/star-trek-thoug.html
It may not have the biggest opening weekend ever, but once it hits theaters this Friday, Star Trek is without a doubt going to be a movie that fans and non-fans will love equally, and I have a feeling as far as overall box office is concerned, it's going to leave Wolverine in the dust.

Review: Star Trek a Slick, Witty Reboot—With a Twist (slightly spoilerish)
http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/movie_reviews/b122441_review_star_trek_slick_witty.html
Part sequel, part prequel, all clever reboot. Director J.J. Abrams smartly uses existing Trek continuity to change existing Trek continuity (bear with us here) and delivers the truest big-screen take on the original series yet. Also, along with a near-perfect cast, he obliterates the unofficial rule that says only even-numbered Star Trek movies are good.

‘Star Trek’ seeks out new life and succeeds | 3 stars (definite spoilers)
http://www.kansascity.com/710/story/1182195.html
As rousing as a Klingon war chant and more fun than an engine room full of tribbles, “Star Trek” successfully reboots the venerable franchise, pleasing diehards and newbies alike.

'Star Trek' comes out with phasers blasting (spoilerish- plot details)
http://www.mercurynews.com/entertainment/ci_12308198?source=rss
Set your phasers to stunned. And prepare to be blown away.

Modern version will please Trekkies, non-Trekkies alike (no spoilers)
http://www.dl-online.com/event/article/id/44114/group/Entertainment/
Now that I have seen it, I can honestly say that this was possibly the best modernization of the series I could have ever imagined.

Star Trek review - Rolling Stones (slightly spoilerish comments)
http://www.rollingstone.com/reviews/movie/20314046/review/27993027/star_trek
Star Trek creates an alternate universe you want to get lost in. It's an irresistible invitation for fun. What more can you ask of a summer movie?

Review by Roger Ebert, who is a Star Trek fan. Roger gives the movie 2½ stars:
http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/...IEWS/905069997 (definite spoilers)

"'Star Trek' as a concept has voyaged far beyond science fiction and into the safe waters of space opera, but that doesn’t amaze me. The Gene Roddenberry years, when stories might play with questions of science, ideals or philosophy, have been replaced by stories reduced to loud and colorful action. Like so many franchises, it’s more concerned with repeating a successful formula than going boldly where no 'Star Trek' has gone before." - Roger Ebert

I only read the first two paragraphs, and the last paragraph, of Roger's review. From scanning, what is in-between seems to contain heavy spoilers. Roger is very critical of the Star Trek franchise, and while he gave both Nemeis and Insurrection only two stars, he's critical of some of the more popular ones as well.

I like Roger Ebert because, like me, he ranks the movie "Casablanca" as the greatest movie of all time.

Default CNN review!

Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else. It's pretty cool to go to the front page of CNN and see:

Default Confused Matthew reviews the film

And su-prise su-prise, he doesn't like it. No, he hated it. He and his bro (I think it's his bro) Stand In Stan review the film.

And they do not let up. Like right now, just the first video is up.

I can understand people not liking the film. But Matt and Stan say things in this video that I just can't even fathom.

minor spoilers
Anyway, what do you think:

I won't even watch it. Some "fans" decided they didn't like it before they even saw it & to invest time in negative ranting is just small.
