Just hit me, that with the release only a few weeks away, and with the promotional tour beginning it's not going to be long until the official reviews start to come through.
Will you try and avoid them, or see what the advance word might be?

Too late to ignore anything. Just roll with it and see the movie.

I think I'm just gonna see the movie, judge for meself, then read the reviews...although the obvious review snippets that usually accompany trailers for movies that are only a couple days away from release, or already released will be positive. (Selling point.)

I'll probably take a look @ the Tomatometer and various snippets, but I'll be watching the movie no matter what.

What do you think though about the 'new' audience - so to speak. Who might go with such things whereas we all plan to it regardless anyway?

I don't even look at the Tomatometer anymore. lol
I learned all I needed to know when Nimoy enthusiastically signed on to this script. I don't care about reviews or reports in the trades. I'm going to be there at midnight, sitting in my seat with my Coke and my Sno-Caps and having the time of my life. ![]() |

I'll read the reviews, but I expect they will be dismissive due to the genre and the history of the franchise. I don't really care. I am a first-generation fan; loved TOS, hated TNG, loved DS9, hated Voyager, wanted to like Enterprise, but failed. I am wildly anticipatory about this film; I am eager to see it and much more optimisitic about it than I was six months ago.

I bet we will see some early reviews by Wednesday. The confidence from the studio is very encouraging and dont think for a minute good reviews wont help box office. Especially the after the opening weekend box office....

I tend to stay away from reviews of movies I'm interested in, mainly because I'm afraid they may give too much away, often indirectly, of main plot points or when they happen. I probably won't read anything in depth until after I see the movie.
