Will we see a similar Kirk-ride like the TMP?

Undoubtedly, and in fact I would deduce that that's where the pic of Kirk and McCoy in the small shuttlepod-like craft came from.

I think it's a good possibility that we'll see her first when Kirk etc arrive on her for the first time. At least seeing her finished, as we'll see her under construction earlier in the film if the trailer is anything to go by.

I'm sure they'll have a grand unveiling of the Enterprise. I'm particularly fond of this sequence of TMP because of the look on Kirk's face when Scotty wheels the pod around for a straight-on view of the ship. Like a kid again, full of wonder and awe.

Don't forget though, this new movie is for movie fans not Trek fans... and movie fans don't have attention spans to handle a 5 minute flyby-tour with no dialog and only music...
 If it's in there it's gonna be a very short approach scene most likely... with some light banter in the shuttle, then it'll be over. *cut to inside shuttle bay* lol

No doubt. Not looking for a repeat of same except the pivotal moment in the movie where we'll see the Enterprise for the first time. Fan or not, the ship is the star of the show. I do agree it should be handled "matter-of-factly" in the new movie but with grand scope.
In TMP the sequence was essentially a reunion for Kirk and all of us. We cherished it. And that's what we remembered.
