Is anyone out there as excited as I am that they are FINALLY going to release the much underrated 60's TV show "The Invaders" on DVD. On sale in May of 08. Don't know much about the extras, but it'll sure beat those #$@%-in bootlegs!!

I'm looking forward to it, a very good series for its day.
The remake with Scott Bakula? Sorry Archer fans, it just doesn't measure up to the original with Roy Thinnes... I must say, the bootleg Man From UNCLE set I got recently? For the money I paid for it, a 22-disc set, the quality overall is pretty good and beats paying almost $250 to Time-Life for the legit set!

yes, but as a writer/photographer I have a big problem with bootlegging! It's taking money out of someone's mouth (yes, I realize most anyone involved with TMFU is dead except the two lead actors)... I still feel it is wrong...
sorry for moralizing... |

Apparently what took so long for TMFU to finally be released on DVD was settling the question of who actually held the legal rights to the show...the current owners of MGM and/or Arena Productions, the estate of Norman Felton or the estate of Sam Rolfe or others who laid claim...

BUT staying on topic.
Yes, I am looking forward to seeing "The Invaders" on DVD. Hopefully, the boxed set will include the remake too. |

Haven't seen it since high school, and am looking forward to it!
As far as bootlegs go, I buy them, but only to satisfy me until the legit release comes out, which I'll also buy. Like Robinson Crusoe On Mars, the only thing you could get for years were bootlegs DVDs or mega- expensive VHS and laserdiscs, both out of print. I bought the boot but felt morally obliged to buy the recent DVD release ( which was Criterion Collection, looked better and had lots of extras). |
