With some of the negative buzz going around about the new trek movie, I was wondering, does anyone think this movie is going to be any worse than Nemesis? Obviously no one can really answer this question, having not seen it, but really, I personally have a hard time imagining this movie will be as much of a mess as Nemesis.
It'll be different, to many it won't be star trek and as for Nemesis, even at its worse, it is still Star Trek, it feels like Star Trek. I don't know if I'd be able to say the same about the new movie. Even if the new movie has a great script and really delivers, if it doesn't feel like Star Trek, will it work? I mean afterall Abrams movie is called Star Trek. What'd you all think?

If it doesn't feel like trek it will not matter in the least. It's the whole point, to get rid of the old feel even if it's temporarialy.
Can it do worse than Nemesis. (Thankfull) No. they can't do worse. They're activating a very agressive designed advertising scheme no Star Trek Movie has ever had. It will be the most sucessful Trek Movie in History. Nemesis was boring and foreign.

In my personal opinion, Nemesis was the "big screen" movie that the Next Gen films needed...and did that quite well. Sure, it was full of flaws, but it looked (and still looks) more like a big screen movie than Generations, First Contact, and Insurrection. And it had tons of action.

Is it going to be worse or do worse? I think it will be better AND do better. That's my opinion for what it is worth. Good topic, there should be a poll on this.
