They are also going to be running shuttles to Star Trek The Exhibition and there will be a special Comic Con party at the Museum.

I wouldn't mind going, but my budget won't allow it.

A one-day membership is only $20. That's pretty reasonable, really, considering the cost of things nowadays.

Yeah, but Zardoz is in Kentucky so there's airfare and hotel rooms involved. I don't do Comic Con anymore. Back in the old days when it was at the Grant it was a wonderful thing, but somewhere after it moved to the old Convention Center it started to get out of control and by all accounts, it's 10 times as large now.

But, have fun! Is it your first Comic Con?

It'll be my first San Diego Comic Con (my friend goes every year), but by no means my first con.

My first con ever was a non-profit one called Equicon '73, put on by Bjo Trimble.

How old is the baby? Comic Con has paid child care for kids over 6 months. It's not the least bit inexpensive, but taking advantage of it for an hour or so might provide sanity saving relief.
