Default New X Files Movie

You guys looking forward to it? One question I have is are Mulder and Scully going to be with the FBI, cause at the end of the series, weren't they fugitives? Anyone heard how they're handling or resolving that issue?

It's only a guess, based on some clips from the trailer but I don't think they work with the FBI, but also neither are they on the run. I think Mulder gets called back into the FBI to consult on the case that sparks the film, and he then goes to Scully (working as a doctor or something back in the medical field), and they return to the FBI to work as consultants because of it's nature. That could be totally wrong and I don't know how they're no longer on the run but that's how it could possibly work based on my watching the trailer. Can't wait for it to hiy theatres though!

That makes sense to me. You certainly get a hint from the trailer that they have gone on with their lives, they are no longer working together as in the series and perhaps are brought back together by this case. As for their 'fugitive' storyline I suppose it'd be taken care of pretty easily early in the film, but yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing it as well.

I'm curious about Doggett and Reyes as well, and I read in a Chris Carter interview that William, their son, will also not go unmentioned in the film, so it looks like they know what they want to do.

That sounds good. I assume William will be ten or so. I can't remember in the show, but didn't they give him to foster care or did Scully raise him?

she gave him away for his own safety, the new film is set in 'real time' i.e 2008 and she had him in 2001 i think, at the end of season 8, so I think about 7

Reviews won't put me off seeing but some I read online weren't very flattering except Roger Ebert who gave it 4 stars. I still can't wait and as long as it's halfway decent and does enough box-office for a third i'll be happy!
