I think that it would be cool if they did a movie about the Earth-Romulan war as there have been many references to it and a few books about it but no film or TV. It seem like there is a big gap of history coverage there, kind of somewhere between Enterprise and the Origional Series. I thought that the show Enterprise was sort of getting into it, however it got cancelled.

We've already got a thread on that over here.

I too would have loved to see that but at this point the new movie is all we have to look forward too...which is a shame considering that a movie set during the Romulan War would have been a significant piece of Trek history that we aready knew happened but never got to see any details. This new movie is going to be pulling stuff out of thin air to a certain degree which, in and of itself isnt a bad thing...as thats how new stories get told. he only question is, whether or not what is revealed as part of new Trek history will make sense given the rest of Trek history that we already know about. |

I agree, again the Romulan war falls into part of a timeframe we know nothing about. Yea we have seen 2151-2155 but nothing about the war. We have only been given small glimpses into the Star Trek universe, think of the timeline, how much as not been seen on TV or the movie, since the birth of the federation about 170 years worth of unseen exploration and adventure! There are still plenty of TV shows to be done and Movies to make, I bet ill be celebrating Star Trek's 100th anniversary, "The Human Adventure is Just Beginning!"

Although I doubt very much the new film will do so, it would be nice to hear some hints that Archer and his Enterprise NX-01 played an important part in that conflict. Maybe a Starfleet Academy question that we overhear Chekov getting wrong...
![]() "Cadet Chekov: Who was the Captain of the first warp 5 vessel, which after being involved in the Xindi Crisis, lead a vanguard of Earth ships during the Romulan War?" "Tiberius Chase, M'am." "That is incorrect. Anyone else?" "Jonathan Archer. He went on to become Federation President." "Bonus point, Cadet Galliulin." (Chekov turns his classmate) "I'd have gotten that, Irini. I mean, he was Russian afterall..." |

Will be curious to see what the script looks like when it leaks...

lol, that is true, and yet sad. It is very hard to keep scripts a secret these days, with digital cameras, cell phones and other Trek inspired technology. I would like the see the Romulan War, I think it is Big Screen worthy. |

one thing...
in TOS "Balance of Terror" It is said that the neutral zone came about after the Romulan War a century earlier. Thus putting it out side of the time line of the enterprise's existence. Just throwing that in. |
