Default (Not an April Fool thread.) We could know what the new Enterprise looks like now.

All we have to have is some of the clever manip artists on this site, to follow a Star Trek lead and extrapolate from the footage we've already been given from the teaser. It's not stealing, it's not spying. The teaser footage has already been released. Just take the footage of the Enterprise in drydock, and cover the holes in the hull where the plating hasn't been put on yet. Then take the pieces we have seen, like the secondary hull, the engines, the "neck" between the primary and secondary hulls and put them all together, inserting the other missing pieces by extrapolation and just see how close we get when pics of the new Enterprise are finally released. I'm no artist myself, but i'll bet some of you out there could do a pretty good job of it.

No takers huh? We have the top and bottom front of the saucer section, the back of the "neck" strut that holds the primary hull to the secondary, the inside 180% arc of the engine nacelles all the way back. The top rear of the secondary hull, and one side of the front of the secondary hull (the opposite side should look exactly the same.). If you somehow had a program that could put all of these pieces together, you wouldn't have that much left to fill in. In fact, the only things we didn't see were the outside arc of the engine nacelles (which are normally pretty plain jane.) The bottom of the secondary hull and the rear top and bottom of the primary hull, and the engine struts. But hey, maybe it's more difficult to pull off than i think.

I *COULD* do it - if I had enough to go on. Unfortunately, I don't. I hate to point it out, but you must have misinterpreted some of what you saw - not everything listed is shown. (Nor is everything shown listed. For example - we know exactly what camber the nacelle struts are at, if this is indeed the 'final model' that will be used in the movie.) For instance, I can show you the forward portion of the nacelles, but not the rear portion. We weren't even shown enough for me to judge how much of the nacelle I can't show you. (If I had to 'guesstimate', I could reconstruct the forward 1/3 of the nacelle)

I'd be happy to 'build' what we have - but in my expert opinion, we're looking at maybe a total of 1/5th the ship, non-continuous, for accuracy, with perhaps another 1/5th that can be 'reconstructed' based on necessary distances established from the existing shots. The other 3/5ths wouldn't be 'extrapolation'... it'd be flights of fancy.

Give me a bit, and I'll build-up what we already have, so you can see...

Actually, on closer look, about all I could do was a rough approx. of the saucer. I could also do those forward nacelle portions, but we don't have any shots at all of any of the 'connecting' portions in between... no sec. hull, etc. In fact, that teaser shows darned little - take a look:

I'm sorry guys. I guess it just wasn't a realisitic idea. Don't waste any more time on it. But thank you for your valiant efforts. You win some, you lose some.
