Do you think we will ever see Prime Star Trek on screen again?

It's too restrictive. Unless they're willing to ignore/disregard a lot of what ST has already done. In which case it might as well be another alternate universe.

I kinda wish we could all get over needing to designate between prime/secondary/new/whatever universe anyway. If that's the most (first) important detail in establishing the next ST, then they're probably trying too hard. It's also a detail general viewers won't be concerned about, and that kind of talk on the street would only confirm the new ST will be of the 'exclusive' variety.

Although I would love to see a retro 23rd century series set on a cargo ship, a colony or something like that I doubt that the next Trek series will be something like that ... and squeezing itself into a fictional historical niche or using the current setting where Vulcan is destroyed would obviously be self-limiting and thus be the opposite of what sci-fi is about, expanding story-telling possibilities.

I tend to agree. That would be consistent with the current business model Hollywood has been using lately.
