In my humble opinion, the greatest musician of all times, and a truly remarkable person. Without his music to aid me through my high school years, I would have probably not made it out alive. It's hard to believe it's been nearly six years since he left us for the final frontier, and it's even harder to imagine any other musicians ever being able to do as much justice to Star Trek as he has. In this thread, please list your favorite scores that he did (not just Star Trek), as well as your opinions of the man himself, Jerry Goldsmith.
MY FAVORITE JERRY GOLDSMITH SCORES: The Star Trek Films Rudy The Mummy Air Force One Patton

Yeah Archer, the man was amazing and incredibly prolific. So much great movie and tv music for so many decades! My #1 favorite movie composition of all time is Ilia's Theme from TMP. And the Voyager's theme song is nearly as beautiful and evocative, and easily my favorate of the Trek show themes.

TMB, I'm glad to hear some variety in opinion! Although I personally prefer to hear the main title themes from TMP and First Contact, those are too often picked as people's favorites, and it is nice to see Ilia's theme and Voyager's main title on someone's favorites list.
Also, about bloody time someone decided to comment! Thank you TMB!

Without question he's done some of Hollywood's best scoring. I'm still partial to John Williams though. I like the entire ST-TMP score followed by Logan's Run. AFO is OK, but I just prefer the sci-fi movie music more.

His TV work with "The Waltons" and I think one of the "Twilght Zone" themes is also legendary.
