The internet has facilitated the creation of marketplaces that try to ascertain the risk of seemingly irrelevant events . They only make sense if you use them as insurance, in this case if you work in the movie industry.
But I doubt that enough people play along. With only a few players involved you don't get a liquid market and it can indeed be only used for fun. But playing in a real casino or cents gambling with your friends is probably more fun.
