Default Star Trek gets snubbed by the Oscars
Start Trek is nominated for only sound editing, sound and make-up. That makes me very mad. So you know what I am not doing on Oscar night. That Right I am NOT watching the show. What Do you guys think?

What else would have been deserved

Star Trek XI is a wonderful mainstream movie, but it's no artistic masterpiece.

What popular 'summer' movies have been nominated in the past, anyway (to say nothing about being awarded)?

Well, I don't think it deserved best picture, or any best actor/actress nominations. I think it got nominated for special effects as well. I would have liked to see a nomination for score. The movie wasn't aan A list picture, it was a highly budgeted action-adventure popcorn flick.

I didn't expect Star Trek to win an Oscar for Best Picture--but I think it SHOULD have got a nomination! The animated "UP" got a nomination but not Star Trek??? I was astounded by that!!!! I saw a TV interview last night and the person said he was so surprised not to see Star Trek nominated.
To me, it was a slap in the face that it wasn't!
I don't watch awards shows anyway but I would have made an exception had ST been nominated. It was all so disappointing.
