I suppose writing background music for scenes shouldn't be so hard for anyone who knows the mechanics of it. It might be fun to watch a scene you've made, hear some music for it in your head, find it on a keyboard or guitar, write down the melody, and sweat the rest later. But more likely the music will come to you out of the blue and you should keep some recording device handy. And if your Korg thing does high-quality MIDI, well, you could be in for some fun.
