If I were the CEO of a major corporation dealing in consumer products, I don’t think I’d want tax breaks at the cost of making it harder for the masses to buy my goods. I’d rather have them swimming in cash so I can sell more and perhaps improve my margins. Isn’t a healthy boost in profits better than a tax break if the net result is more income for the company, not to mention my salary and stock options?
