Many reject it but it is the best size for the ship, hands down.
Anything else and there is absolutely no way you can justify any sort of connecting tunnel through the nose to the station. Or even more difficult the connecting tunnel from the nose to the rest of ship is too small to fit a person and the mechanics of the connection.
But fans can't get what they've seen out of their heads.
