Nope. Ever since 2010, Star Trek XI has been running continuously on the EPIX channel (the premium cable network started by Paramount, MGM, and Lionsgate awhile back). In fact, this is the first week that it hasn't been running there over the past two years.
The premium cable channels (HBO, SHO, etc) are first tier and pay better. FX is third tier.
Add EPIX to that first tier. FX is included in most basic or expanded cable system tiers across the US, but granted not all.
There is a silly rumor that EPIX paid $24 million for the flick, but no business model supports that.
Not EPIX, the FX channel. They outbid the USA network and the TNT-TBS family for Star Trek XI.
Free your mind, and the rest will follow.
