I would agree. They are not really comparable. For some reason, I have more the X-Men to X-Men 2 path in my head, rather than the darker Nolan-verse of Batman.
You still have the escalation of the stakes, but with the pace and the energy kept and also managing to flirt with an allegory or two.
But Batman has superceded X-Men as the franchise on everyone's lips - so it's not surprising he's using that film instead as some sort of inspiration.
