The Burton Batman's are fine - Batman itself had quite a bit less to say about the psyche of Bruce Wayne (whereas Begins decided to go there more) but both his films are still pretty good.
The problem IMO was when the hack Schumacher came onboard.
But, a couple years down the line I have to say The Dark Knight doesn't work on repeat viewings quite as well as it did on first show. It's got too much it's trying to do (which shouldn't be a complaint but a film needs to balance itself) and it ends up kinda rambling about the more you watch it.
