Precisely, the show needed a change at that moment and it worked in some ways but also made it lame in a different way.

She had the sense of wonder and awe of a child, the eagerness to learn and contribute of the student, the heart and maturnal instinct of a young girl. Seven didn't have any of this, Ryan played Seven like a female Vulcan.
The Borg queen, Seven, T'Pol ... they really went for the cold sexiness or shall I even say dominatrix type.
