What kind of antenna? The usual rabbit ears? They will work fine so long as you are close enough to the towers etc etc etc. Keep in mind that most digital stations have moved to UHF so a different kind might be needed. In case you are looking around keep in mind that there is really no such thing as an "HDTV" antenna. Also, not all converters are created equal and some are better at handling breakup than others.

You can go to antennaweb.org to see how close you are to the transmitters in your area and what kind of antenna you will probably need. It will tell you which stations are VHF and which are UHF and everything else needed to get up and running.
