Default Shift in Vulcan demographics

Given that the survivors of the destruction of Vulcan wuld have been almost entirely composed of people who were already offworld or who were planning to be offworld and in ships that just hadn't taken off yet, how might that affect the demographics of the survivors. Would you expect more progressive, less tradition bound dynamics overall?

After all, how would a new human culture be different if it were composed, due to some (can't think of anything specific at present) catastrophe, only of people who were all, at some particular moment, in an airplane?
