I took it as its a new beginning and the future is yet to be determined
The main time thrusters were mentioned in Trek was in The Voyage Home
When Spock needed Thruster Control to make sure they ended up in the right time on both trips to the past and pardon the pun back to the furure
Spock in essence controled the Time
As he can also now control the timeline by using what he knows of the future
