It'll be different, to many it won't be star trek and as for Nemesis, even at its worse, it is still Star Trek, it feels like Star Trek. I don't know if I'd be able to say the same about the new movie. Even if the new movie has a great script and really delivers, if it doesn't feel like Star Trek, will it work? I mean afterall Abrams movie is called Star Trek.
What'd you all think?
I think you hit the nail on the head in terms of the arguement. While I have voiced my own negativity at times, it has been directed entirely to the... oh let's just call it historical deviation
that the film seems to be taking. However, in terms of the overall quality of the movie, my feeling thus far is that the story will be well thought out but hopefully not overly convoluted, the special effects and direction will be unseen thus far in any Trek production, and the acting (from what little we've seen) has a good chance of being convincing and comendable.
I think we all know what the shortcomings of Nemesis
were and I am very certain that this move will be perceived as better by both the general audience and the media critics.
Keep in mind that it is entirely possible for one not
to like an empirically good production.
