What's fun for tech that looks scifi-ish, check out (or now, find on ebay) the Tapwave Zodiac 1 and 2. TPTB with Stargate Atlantis/SG1 still use it as a scanner or other technical-looking prop (you'll get to see it in The Ark of Truth...).
