Remember the show "how Shatner changed everything", or something named like that? I think it was on the History channel. I had many non-Trek fans tell me they watched that show and that they had a different feeling toward us Trek fans after watching it.
I don't think this guy was against thinking about new ways to do things, but he wants it to be more...improvised on the spot if thats the correct term. But then again, he has made it clear to me in other conversations, if you're not working, having sex, or working on having sex...you're wasting your time.
