Yeah, as much as I liked ENT, the first two seasons felt too clunky and suffered from a lack of real direction...it felt like "what would TOS be like if it were written like TNG?"

I think the Xindi season and Coto's brilliant 4th season put the series back on the right track, but too many people had given up on it and the fact it was on the Paramount Network prevented a lot of fans who did want to watch the show from keeping ratings up.

If Enterprise were on CBS (or syndication), it may have been a different story. (But, then, sci-fi shows weren't doing well in the early part of this decade...reality shows had taken over everything).

I think JJA has, from what little I've seen/read, done an admirable job of reviving the franchise. (There, I was on topic for at least one sentence. )
