But he always went to great lengths to hide or suppress his human side. The idea of him KISSING anyone in public is so outside of his character and thats what has people disliking this movie.

Great post. It sure would have been nice if the producers actually saw the earlier star trek movies or series. That way, they might have been able to maintain continuity.
