Regular TOS versus Remastered TOS

I've got a copy of the regular TOS DVD sets for all three seasons and I covet the remastered version.

One big difference between the Star Trek and Star Wars books:

Star Wars books are all written in a single timeline. Anything written must fit in with whatever else is already in print. When...

I find it frustrating when a movie gets made, is successful, and the sequel is promised but not made for a long time. Shows that the people at the top are not really committed to the franchise. :(

I have a simiar experience to the OP's. My daughter (age 14) has had zero interest in Star Trek of any kind in the past, but really enjoyed the new movie. In fact, she "made" me take her back to see...

What's strange about the Blish adaptations is that I think he did some of them based on an early shooting script and not the final product. Some of the episodes are very different from their...

TWOK is best, in my mind.

TMP was at best a mediochre movie. I remember travelling an hour to get to a theatre that had TMP when it was first released and how I was mesmerized by the experience....

I have the original DVD sets and am having a tough time justifying to my wife the cost of "rebuying" the same thing in the remastered format.

I guess I'd like a better understanding of why it would...

Wow. I had a question that I thought was a good one, but had no idea that this thread would explode as it has.

I will say that most TREK that I have seen is good TREK, even if I don't...

I see a lot of computer/video game chat around here but not much for non-computer Star Trek games, so I was curious if there is interest in any of that stuff instead.

For example I really love...

Is “bad” Trek worse than no Trek at all?

I often hear folks say that Voyager was bad, or that they hated Enterprise. Posters often bash the new movie because J.J. Abrams has a new and different vision of Star Trek and likes to change things...

An interesting criteria. Should we inquire as to which other DVD sets or movies you do/don't own such that we can determine what is canon or not? :001_cool:
