Here in the UK you can see all Trek pretty much 24/7. TOS is on Sci Fi Mon-Fri, TNG is on Bravo 7 days a week, DS9 and Enterprise on Virgin and Voyager just had another run on Sky.

OK so we all know he is called 'Data' obviously.

Here in England though we pronounce the word "Day-ta" where as the Americans say "Dah-ta"

Why then is his name pronounced in the English way not the...
