I'd say the Next Generation was great in terms of special effects, the technology, and great sets, but character-wise they were all too serious for me in comparison to the original series characters.

The only things I enjoyed from Generations was the team-up of Captains Kirk and Picard and the destruction of Enterprise-D. Everything else I didn't care about and the plot didn't come together...
