GIF Problems
 

I'm quite infuriated...I cannot get any animated GIF image to correctly upload and animate as my avatar. I've uploaded it many times and the animation never works. Any help on this?

are you sure you are following these rules?

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 100.0 KB (whichever is smaller).

I was able to upload a 19K 60x32 animated image and it worked.

I followed the rules. I will try to make an even smaller GIF in a while and try it.

Essex, are you thinking that your current avatar moves? Because it doesn't. I made a very simple animated gif for Zardoz that he's been unable to get to move when uploaded as well.

I'm afraid to try switching mine because at least right now, I'm spinning....

Hmmm. I've gone through a few different images. Some work and others don't. But I am keeping it below 80x80 and 100kb.

You should see a smiley drawing for his guns.

I went below the 80x80 limit and it worked. Apparently, you have to meet both criteria, not one or the other.

A smiley face with guns a blazing...I've sent Zardoz a file that fits both criteria. Hopefully this will get his godhead chomping on that Enterprise.....

Usually, it's "whatever is least"....and that's where the file size restriction gets you just about every time.

I haven't tried that kind of thing.

In this case, it's "both"....you need that 80pixels x 80pixels thing, but you need to stay under 100kb too....it's not always easy to do with the animations.
