Could Matrix be the future of Terminator?

War between man-made machines and humans... machines win and create the matrix.
They could easily be the same universe, I guess.

That's an interesting thought i never considered. But I think you are right, both universes are consistent with one another. Come to think of it, so is Battlestar, except for the fact that in Battlestar its all taking place in a galaxy far, far, away, not on earth. Otherwise Battlestar could be the future of Terminator as well.

Odradek, I didn't mean the virtual part of the Matrix universe, I meant the real world ;)

I think the Matrix/Terminator connection will become more apparent in the next Terminator film. After watching T4 I am in complete agreement with NCC-73515.

I always get them confused anyway.

I've often thought of stories that would combine the two franchises. It would be cool to the Matrix code as the last shot in an upcoming movie (if they do make any).

Before the virtual reality could be established there were robots rebelling against their human oppressor.
Outside the Matrix there actually still exist robots.

Both have a interesting thing to think about and that is AI and its programming.

One of the shorts in the Animatrix DVD deals with how and when the machines took over.
