Sam Rami's "Drag Me to H*LL"
 

My husband and I went to see "Drag" last night. What a weird movie! More funny than scary with some pretty gross images. Probably not the best movie to take your grandmother to see. It was predictable but stylish in its own way.

I've heard very mixed things about this flick, and the trailers don't really excite me. It's supposed to have a good twist though.

Is that true?

Good, so it's more like the Evil Dead Trilogy, scary and funny!

I've never seen the Evil Dead series but from what I hear, yes. It is very cringe-worthy. Not a great film by any stretch. Definately "B" movie stuff but it is a hoot. Far more laughs than screams. I'd give it a 59 or 60% on Rotten tomatoes. It's on the line between rotten and good.

I'm not a big fan of horror but "Drag" had such great reviews I had to give it a look. I have seen the original "Halloween" (with Jamie Lee). Does that count for anything?

Only if you are trying to compare Halloween to Little Shop of Horrors.
The Exorcist to Repossessed, Scream to Scary Movie, The (original) Twilight Zone to Stephen King's Creepshow, Dawn of the Dead to Shaun of the Dead.
Get the idea?

Evil Dead 1 - low low low budget attempt at a "serious" horror movie.
Evil Dead 2 - remake of ED1 with a camp tone.
Army of Darkness - continuation of Evil Dead 2, with time travel!

I've only seen the first Evil Dead. I prefer my "Dead" movies to come from George Romero.

We had a lady bring her 2 year old and 4 year old to the movie.

I guess she has never heard of a babysitter, or does not mind her toddlers having
nightmares.
